A development of nine dwellings on the west side of Chilbolton Avenue. The site layout works with the existing mature trees and sloping topography and takes advantage of the open views towards the Royal Winchester Golf Course. To the front are a pair of semi-detached houses alongside a terrace of three houses, all faced in brick. Between these a new entrance to the site provides glimpsed views through the site to open countryside beyond. To the rear of the site are four large, four storey houses each incorporating integral garaging and semi-basements, with living accommodation opening onto gardens facing the westerly views. The recessed upper storeys contain the master bedroom suites and are clad externally in black zinc. The design takes into account Winchester Council’s 2006 Local Area Design Statement for Chilbolton Avenue and the scheme was allowed at appeal in 2016.
